Shapewear that rolls down at the waist can quickly become a nuisance. This usually happens when the size is wrong, the height doesn't suit your body shape, or the compression level is too high.
Choose your usual size
It may be tempting to choose a smaller size, but this increases tension on the waistband. The fabric then tries to return to a narrower area and rolls up. Measure your waist and hips, then use the model guide.
Adapt the height to your body shape
A waistband that stops at the widest part of the stomach is more likely to move. A high waist that goes above this area can offer a more stable fit. Conversely, a short torso may be more comfortable with an intermediate height.
Observe the construction
A sufficiently wide waistband, regular elastic material, and flat seams all contribute to a good fit. Very rigid styles are not always the most effective: well-distributed elasticity better accompanies movement.
Do a real test before keeping it
- Sit for several minutes.
- Raise your arms and lean over.
- Walk then check the position of the waistband.
- Make sure you can breathe without restriction.
If the item rolls immediately despite being the right size, another cut will probably be more suitable. Do not try to put up with discomfort in the hope that the garment will stretch out.
